Job Description/Requirements/Etc.: Accounting Now is seeking a Payroll Specialist for one of our clients in downtown St. Petersburg. We are one of the fastest growing financial recruitment companies in the country specializing in matching financial professionals with the right contract or full-time job opportunities in finance, accounting and banking.
Responsible for processing of weekly/bi-monthly payrolls into ADP payroll software, including processing of new hires, terminations, transfers, and any other payroll status changes.
Collect weekly time sheets and calculate employee hours paid.
Prepare general ledger entries related to payroll.
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
Ensure that pay practices are in compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and other applicable wage and hour regulations.
Maintain ADP database for employee changes (names, addresses, W-4 information, withholdings, etc.) Perform maintenance and audits to ensure accuracy.
Performs benefits administration to include employee status changes, updates and reporting.
Assist HR department with administrative, operational tasks and ad-hoc projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now and generating payroll reports required.
Benefits Administration experience required.
Familiarity with state and federal laws required.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills required. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization is essential.

Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
Exceptional attention to detail, ability to follow up, and meet deadlines needed.
Good problem solving, analytical, and math skills required.
Ability to prioritize, and respond to changing needs as they arise.

Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
